Media Questionnaire Analysis
From conducting a questionnaire, I discovered that 95% of my target audience do not read the college magazine. This suggests that the college magazine is not working as a product; therefore it needs to be improved and more publicised. 25% of people questioned said they would pay 50p for the college magazine, but 75% said they would not contribute to buying the magazine. From my results, it told me that my front cover needs to be eye-catching with pictures and colours to make it stand out, but the magazine also needs to be publicised through advertising. I know that the college magazine needs to be monthly because 50% of my target audience said this. However as a further 30% voted for the college magazine to be weekly maybe I could please both by bringing the magazine out every two weeks. This would then fulfil 80% of my target audiences needs. From my questionnaire, I know that the following pages should be on my contents page. A fashion page, a jobs page, a problem page, a Facebook news page and a ‘what’s on’ page should all be included as this is what my target audience were most interested in. Pages that should not be included in the magazine are a history of the college page, as this was the one, least people voted for. Also not many people wanted a sports, news, sudoku or chess club page, therefore this will not be included in the magazine. With results from my questionnaire I can now see what my target audience wants and how they want it; therefore maybe this will help the success of the college magazine to improve considerably.
